Public Sales Begin at Village of Baxter in Fort
Mill
April 29, 1999
Following a sneak preview event for potential homebuyers at the
Village of Baxter that resulted in the sale or reservation of more
than 45 home sites, Clear Springs Development Company has kicked
off public sales at Baxter.
"We are so excited by the tremendous response we have received
so far from new homebuyers," said Allen St. Clair, sales manager
for Clear Springs Realty. "Nearly half of the 45 home sites
sold or reserved at Baxter were purchased by Fort Mill, Rock Hill
and other York County residents."
A sneak preview was held in March for potential homebuyers who have
been on a mailing list to purchase homes at Baxter. Those interested
in the initial offering of 185 home sites received a tour of the
property and were able to purchase a home site and select a floor
plan.
Clear Springs Development rolled out a new advertising campaign
to kick off public sales on April 22.
With the beginning of public sales, potential homebuyers can schedule
a meeting with a Clear Springs sales associate for a tour of the
property and review detailed floor plans of homes and townhomes
that will reflect the style and character of the upcountry South
Carolina area. Appointments can be made by calling toll-free (877)
570-HOME or visiting the Baxter Information Center.
The sales team includes Jim Vivian, Thelma Watkins and Lynne Myers,
all of whom will work closely with area Realtors and potential homebuyers
in all aspects of sales activities.
"There are a number of excellent home sites available at Baxter,
including ones near parks and the community center," said James
Traynor, president of Clear Springs Development. "Our Cottage,
Village and Estate home sites are sized to meet the needs of virtually
every homebuyer."
Model homes by David Weekley Homes, Saussy Burbank and S.E. Miller
Construction are open for tours. Townhome models are under construction
by John Wieland Homes, which also will build single family homes.
Townhome models by John Wieland Homes are scheduled to open this
summer.
In addition to townhomes, which will be priced from the $130s to
the $200s and will range in size between approximately 1,100 and
1,900 square feet, model homes at Baxter include:
- The Cottage, priced from the $130s to the $200s
and ranging in size between approximately 1,250 and 2,200 square
feet.
- The Village, priced from the low $200s to the low
$300s and ranging in size between approximately 2,000 and 3,500
square feet.
- The Estate, priced from the $320s with square footage
starting at approximately 3,000 square feet.
The permanent Information Center for Baxter
is scheduled to open in late June and will be followed by a public
grand opening event. The Information Center opening will coincide
with the opening of the new Fort Mill branch of the York County
Library, both located at the main entrance to Baxter.
Baxter homeowners will enjoy more than 400 acres of open space,
an extensive trail system and several parks scattered throughout
the neighborhood. Baxter also will include a Community Center with
a swimming pool, meeting rooms and playgrounds.
The 950-acre Village of Baxter, located approximately 20 minutes
from uptown Charlotte in the southwest quadrant of S.C. Highway
160 and Interstate 77 and developed on property owned by the Close
family, is a traditional neighborhood offering single family homes
and townhomes, as well as commercial sites and more than 400 acres
of open spaces.
Modeled after small towns of the Southeast, Baxter's traditional
architecture will reflect the style and character of the Upcountry
South Carolina region. Features such as front porches and abundant
sidewalks will orient activity to the front of homes, promoting
a pedestrian-friendly community.
