New Phase, New
Model Homes Mark A New Year For Baxter
April 24, 2003
With over 380 families currently living in the Village
of Baxter, the community is expanding again with the opening of
a new phase. This newest phase includes Baxter's Town Center and
over 200 homes, which will be built within a five minute walk of
Market Street, the core street through the Town Center. Market Street
will include roughly 130,000 of Baxter's total 500,000 square feet
of retail, restaurant and commercial space, including a 60,000 square
foot YMCA. A public library, Neighborhood Information Center, elementary
school, and an Urgent Care Center are all currently open. The Town
Center will add the convenience of restaurants, streetside offices
and retail shops to the Village. The Baxter Town Center is a key
component of the neighborhood's Master Plan, developed from the
initial vision of the Close family of Fort Mill, SC. Alan Marshall,
Director of Commercial Sales and Leasing, said, "Baxter Town
Center will be quaint, charming and very much like the vision conjured
up by the words 'small town living.' It will be a departure from
the typical 'power center' with anchor stores."
Four new model homes designed to complement Baxter's
vision of a traditional neighborhood are now open in the new phase,
as well. Also new to Baxter is D.R. Horton Homes, currently recognized
as the nation's fourth largest homebuilder. Baxter homes by D.R.
Horton will include Classical, Colonial and Arts & Craft style
elevations from 2,500 to 4,000 square feet, and will be priced from
the $250s to $400s.
In addition to D.R. Horton Homes, Saussy Burbank,
David Weekley Homes and S.E. Miller Custom Homes will continue to
build quality homes in Baxter.
The Village of Baxter is a mixed-use neighborhood
being developed by Clear Springs Development Company. The 1,033-acre
development will include approximately 1,325 homes at build-out,
more than 400 acres of open space, and over 500,000 square feet
in mixed-use commercial space.
