Harris Teeter to
anchor new retail center
adjacent to Baxter Village
April 24, 2003
Residents of Baxter Village will soon enjoy the convenience
of a Harris Teeter, along with other retail stores and services,
right in their own back yard. The corner of Pleasant Road and Highway
160 will be home to a new, 45,250 square foot Harris Teeter, which
will anchor an entire retail center at the same location.
This new development by Pleasant Partners, LLC, comprises
a three-way joint venture between Raley Miller Properties, Childress
Klein Properties and Harris Teeter.
Slated to open in the Spring of 2004, the new Harris
Teeter will include a butcher shop, deli, bakery, seafood and wine
shop. "The quality and reputation of Harris Teeter is a perfect
fit for Baxter Village. It's a great addition to the area,"
said Alan Marshall, Director of Commercial Sales and Leasing for
Clear Springs Development Company.
Over 380 families currently live in Baxter, and the
community recently opened a new phase for further development. The
neighborhood is now home to a public library, elementary school,
Urgent Care Center and restaurants, with a 60,000 square foot YMCA
breaking ground this summer.
The Village of Baxter is a mixed-use neighborhood
being developed by Clear Springs Development Company. The 1,033-acre
development will include approximately 1,325 homes at build-out,
as well as more than 400 acres of open space.
