Village of Baxter welcomes new business that prepares children for a computer-based society
Fort Mill, SC – April 12, 2006
The "next" future of technology has arrived at Baxter Village. In just a few weeks, Imagine Tomorrow will begin offering computer classes for kids at the Computer Clubhouse, located next to Noah's Art in the new Market East building in the Baxter Town Center.
"This is such a great concept," says Vanessa Rice, director for Imagine Tomorrow's Baxter location. "And Baxter is the perfect location for something like this. It's a great environment for families, and an incredible place to own a business."
Imagine Tomorrow's computer classes take children ages two and a half through seven on learning adventures. Each child has access to their own laptop during the lessons, which help them embark on "mini missions" as computer detectives. "The classes combine a fun learning adventure with sophisticated technology concepts in a creative way that teaches children to use computers as tools," explains Vanessa Rice. "The Imagine Tomorrow software is custom-built for each lesson, and based on each child's academic and technical ability levels." Certified teachers instruct all classes, and parents are given online passwords to access the lessons learned in each class, as well as software activities for reinforcement at home.
Other Market East tenants include Encore Studios, a dance, tap, ballet, and jazz studio; Turtles & Teacups, a children's boutique; Noah's Art, an arts and crafts school, A Dwelling Place Realty, and Expressions Photo Studio.
Market East is a part of the Baxter Town Center, located within Baxter Village, a 1033-acre, mixed-use traditional neighborhood located off I-77 at exit 85 in Fort Mill. Over 750 families have purchased homes in Baxter, with approximately 650 more lots under development or planned. When fully complete, Baxter Town Center will consist of over 380,000 square feet of commercial and civic uses. The Town Center is already home to a Starbucks Coffee, the state-of-the-art Fort Mill YMCA facility, Fort Mill Public Library, Piedmont Urgent Care, Orchard Park Elementary School, and Field of Dreams Nurture and Education Center, along with numerous shops, restaurants, and professional offices.
