Fort Mill, SC - December 9, 2003- The Village of Baxter's
Town Center will add an upscale restaurant, an ice cream and coffee
shop, and the regional offices of a multi-national steel conglomerate
to its growing roster of retail and professional businesses.
Baxter residents and others in the Fort Mill area
will now have access to an authentic, upscale Chinese restaurant
featuring elements of Pan Asian and California cuisine. Slated to
open August 2004, the new restaurant will be located in 4,175 square
feet of the Town Center's Springmaid Building. The yet-to-be-named
establishment will be owned and operated by Po and Jong Liu, who
also owned and operated the former Uncle Liu's restaurant in the
Lake Wylie area. Baxter's newest restaurant will feature a bistro
atmosphere, outdoor and private seating, a full bar and broad wine
list. Furnishings and decorative art imported from China will add
authentic appeal.
SweeTreats Ice Cream and Coffee brings a unique concept
to Baxter Village as well. Owners and Baxter residents Tom and Lisa
Gruenthal will serve up over 100,000 possible topping and flavor
combinations. SweeTreats will also carry coffee from Dilworth Coffee,
a company known for providing considerable training and guidance
to ensure a successful coffee operation. SweeTreats will open in
January 2004 in 1,865 square feet in the Town Center's Springmaid
Building.
The Regional Management and Sales Office of Ovako
Steel will now call the Baxter Town Center home. Ovako Steel is
a division of SKF Foundries, a multi-national steel conglomerate
headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. Led by President Mikael Wiel
and CFO John Curtin, Ovako Steel plans to move in to 3,300 square
feet in the Town Center's Springmaid Building mid December 2003.
In addition to these newest offerings, Beef O'Brady's,
a neighborhood pub for families and friends, is now open in the
Village of Baxter's Town Center. Circa North, a salon housed in
688 square feet of space, opened in the Springmaid Building in October.
