Construction begins on new Market East building in the Village of Baxter
Fort Mill, SC - October 20, 2005
Clear Springs Development Company, LLC has broken ground on a new 7500 square foot retail building in Baxter Village. Located just across from Beef O' Brady's, the one-story Market East building, which will be completed by year's end, features traditional, pedestrian friendly architecture in keeping with the rest of the Baxter Town Center.
"We already have a great mix of tenants in the Market East building," says Kerri Robusto, Sales and Marketing Director for Clear Springs Development Company. "They really compliment each other, and offer a wonderful variety of goods and services that are needed in our growing town. With all of the growth and the great demographics in this area, these tenants recognized a great opportunity and seized upon it."
Market East tenants currently include Encore Studios, a dance, tap, ballet, and jazz studio. Owner Mandy Little, who currently owns a studio in Lancaster, SC is temporarily registering new students and teaching classes at the Baxter Community Center. Carrie Ritchey is fulfilling her dream by opening Turtles & Teacups, a children's boutique in Market East. After enjoying success in Gastonia, Jane and David Kimbro are opening their second location of Ooh La La, an upscale women's boutique. Noah's Art arts and crafts school will celebrate the grand opening of their third location in Market East. Owners Brian and Wendi Bojanowski are very excited to bring this new opportunity for fun and learning to area children. The brand new A Dwelling Place Realty is also slated to open in Market East early next year, and negotiations are currently underway with a restaurant that will serve a full traditional breakfast, and lunch featuring comfort food and low-country cooking.
The developments at Baxter Village don't stop with Market East. Planning is already underway by Clear Springs Development for another mixed-use building of approximately 12,000 square feet that will combine retail and office space. Construction of this new building is scheduled to begin next spring. "This whole undertaking has been such an incredible success," says Robusto. "There are two remaining parcels available for sale, but one is under contract, and the other is in contract negotiations. Everything else is sold-there are only two build-to-suit/land lease parcels next to the new Starbucks remaining."
Baxter Town Center is located within Baxter Village, a 1033-acre, mixed-use traditional neighborhood located off I-77 at exit 85 in Fort Mill. Over 700 families have purchased homes in Baxter, with approximately 700 more lots under development or planned. When fully complete, Baxter Town Center will consist of over 380,000 square feet of commercial and civic uses. The Town Center is already home to a Starbucks Coffee, the state-of-the-art Fort Mill YMCA facility, Fort Mill Public Library, Piedmont Urgent Care, Orchard Park Elementary School, and Field of Dreams Nurture and Education Center, along with numerous shops, restaurants, and professional offices.
